( We will have 8) Focusing on gospel, R&B, hip-hop and pop genres, SWAG was formed to focus on outreach to underserved, oppressed, and underrepresented and minority communities, especially youth & elderly. Their fusion of ethnic music genres against a backdrop of urban rhythms, innovative arrangements, and solid grooves demonstrate SWAG’s strong musicality and celebratory, spirited style.
Leslie Harlib is a pianist and singer specializing in popular songs from the turn of the last century through the 1940s. When performing, she likes to take the mood from sultry to silly and back again. Some of her passions are arcane novelty tunes from the early 20th century and the Great American Songbook, including works by George and Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, Sammy Fain, Sammy Kahn, Fats Waller, and E. Y. Harburg, to name a few. You may hear classic Broadway tunes as well by such amazing teams as Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Loew, Bock and Harnick, Kander and Ebb.
With Leslie Harlib, life is a cabaret.
