Building the Critical Skill of Mental Agility
The current global climate can only be described as Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous. (VUCA)
How can someone prepare to survive, much less succeed in this climate?
The only way to prepare is to become more aware and adaptable, more resilient and resourceful. In other words, start using your brain in a more conscious and flexible fashion – learn to bend it in different directions and to make those shifts quickly.
The bad news is these skills are not taught in most US schools. The good news is they are a central aspect of improvisation theater training. With over 35 year’s experience of adapting improv theatrical principles, tools and techniques, Sue Walden will guide you safely into the waters of improvisation to explore the process to build these skills for yourself. You will participate in a variety of playful activities, both verbal and non-verbal, along with illuminating debriefs and discussions.
The Bendable Brain Explores
- The basic skills and attitudes required for a Bendable Brain, with opportunities throughout the workshop to apply and practice.
- The ACE process and how it can support us through desired changes
- Improv tools to help focus on the “Now” and open the mind.
- Four common obstacles to a bendable brain, followed by practicing solutions.
- An opportunity to apply your more flexible brain to fellow participants’ current challenges.
“It was the perfect training.
I was moved and energized and enlightened all at once …
how rare is that?”
