Creative Botanical Watercolor with Sharon Virtue

August 22 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

$80.00 – $100.00

Sharon’s Creative workshops explore an expressive style of painting with Watercolor that is both realistic and abstract. We will learn the artist’s tips and tricks, and ways to stay creatively motivated. The goal is to create beautiful botanical compositions that have your unique style at their heart.

The focus will be on capturing the gesture and atmosphere of what we are seeing.

We will review color theory, how to mix paints,  the nature of the materials, and how they impact the final results.

The goal is to enjoy relaxing into the process of creativity in this natural setting.

Starting with ways to sketch and draw plain air we will move on to building our compositions in layers of color and form in the studio.  We will work on watercolor paper. This workshop is open to all levels and those who want to learn new techniques in expressive painting.

The beauty and peace of O’Hanlon gardens, and the fantastic studio space bathed in light make this workshop an excellent place to gather in a creative, mindful, community activity.

Thursday, August 22 from 10 am to 1 pm
$100 or $80 OHCA member
Plus, $15 for materials paid to the instructor day of class or bring your own.  (No acrylics)
