Ven y disfruta de un día tradicional del pan de los muertos, agua fresca, música, cultura y recuerdo de nuestros antepasados.
This is our 3rd consecutive year to commemorate DAY OF THE DEAD. Come and enjoy some traditional day of the dead bread, agua fresca, music, culture and remembrance of our ancestors.
Starting October 22nd please start bringing items you’d like to share to be in our altar. (drop off at the OHCA office during open hours: Tuesday – Saturday 10:30 am to 1:30 pm) Set up will start on October 21st and will stay up through Nov 6th. Bring your items, place them in our altar!
We will gather on Sunday Nov 3rd from 1-3 pm to learn about the meaning of day of the dead, listen to traditional music, enjoy light nibbles and an open forum to share about your loved one in celebration of our ancestors.
DETAILS: * items for the Ofrenda (altar) will be exposed to the elements so please don’t bring anything precious. Photocopies framed preferred and weather resistant items. BRING your loved ones favorite food or drink to share on the day of the event- It is believed that the souls of our ancestors come by to the feast we put forth at the Ofrenda to partake on the food and the smells of the things they loved while living! So, join us for an afternoon memorializing those who came before us and let’s share with your community what made us love them and hold them close to our hearts in memoriam.
