Gel Print Class w/ DAN CASSIDY

Gel Printing is a printing method that doesn’t require a printing press or special inks. It uses acrylic paints and has easy clean up.

$60/ $48 OHCA members
plus $15 materials fee paid to instructor day of class

Oct 3,10 and 17, 11 am to 2 pm

The classes can be taken individually or as a series of 3.  Cost is per class. I will cater the class to each participants experience with the medium. The materials fee covers Gel Plates, paint, paper, and tools. You are welcome to supplement with your own paper, paint etc.

Gel printing can be used to make completed work, gifts, cards, or to make elements that can be collaged into larger works.

Week 1 Oct 3: Intro to Gel Printing.

This class is an introduction to gel printing where we will exploring basic printing and moving on to multi color printing and the use of stencils.

Week 2 Oct 10: Intermediate Gel Printing

In this class we will build on what we learned in the first class and introduce texture and pattern within the elements of your print. 

I will also cover basics for first timers.

Week 3 Oct 17: Advanced Gel Printing

This class will cover working with ghost prints to build texture, layering elements, and making a complex multi layered print in one drop.

I will also cover beginner and intermediate methods for those that have not taken all three.

About Dan

Dan Received a BFA in photography and printmaking from the California College of Arts and Crafts in 2006. He moved to Taos, New Mexico and opened a small studio gallery. Whilst in Taos, he was a founding member of the “Pressing On, Taos Printmakers” group and was vice chair/chief curator for the Taos Fall Arts Festival. Dan is on the Board of OHCA and serves on the Exhibition Committee as well.
