Drawing is fundamental to any form of visual art and can be the most easily accessible form of individual expression. It is as unique to each artist as a person’s handwriting.
Set aside your inhibitions and learn to draw! In this beginner class, we will learn the basics of drawing using a variety of materials, techniques, and methods.
Bring your open and curious mind, a sketchbook (minimum 9” x 12”), and your favorite writing tool. All other materials will be provided. (Materials fee $20 paid to the instructor at the beginning of class).

Naomi Tamura has been exploring artistic endeavors most of her life, taking an interest in drawing and painting at a young age. After graduating from Scripps College with a Studio Arts Degree, Naomi worked professionally as a graphic designer /art director in both print and online.
Naomi is a practicing artist and philanthropist. She is involved in various creative and community endeavors, most notably serving as a former board chair of O’Hanlon Center for the Arts, and currently serving as the longest-serving board chair at Youth in Arts in San Rafael.
After raising her family and retiring from commercial work, she refocused her energies on her many creative pursuits, including sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for the creative process with others.
