Learn to create unique mixed media weavings

+ $35 Material fee, paid to Facilitator

(5 students minimum, 12 maximum)

Learn many techniques to create exciting and unique mixed media weavings, on a simple loom (supplied for you). You’ll learn many stitches to weave in yarn and fabric, and then add beads, jewelry parts and all sorts of fun embellishments to create a textured and lively piece.

You’ll also learn to make special tassels, pompoms, and fringes to add on to the body and edges of your weaving.

No weaving or art experience is necessary to take this workshop, or to make fabulous pieces of art.

Perfect for beginning through advanced artists.

Materials List for Students to Bring:

• Fabric scissors
• Embroidery needle (plastic or metal, 3 inches long, with eye large enough to fit yarn),
• Fabric and yarn (made of any materials, colors and textures you like)
• Very strong string (for the warp string) that won’t break when pulled upon
• Needle and thread
• Optional: string, beads, buttons, jewelry parts, driftwood, shells, etc.
• (The instructor will provide many fabrics, yarns and embellishments, and please do bring your own stash, as well).
