It is easier to buy clothing than to part with it. Clothes will get worn for a season or two, and then they pass into closet limbo. This workshop aims to reduce the consumption of fast fashion, adopting a kinder lifestyle for our planet. You will learn ways in which wearable art can act as a form of self-expression.
At this hands-on clothes upcycling workshop, participants are invited to bring their own clothes to adapt, repurpose, and upcycle sewing by hand. Using the instructor’s work as inspiration, participants are encouraged to express their own pop culture iconographies or those specific to their lifestyle.
Supplies Required:
Jacqueline has been upcycling since she was 7 years old. She teaches practical HOW-TO’s for deconstructing apparel and reconstructing it into something that looks brand new and fashion forward.
This workshop is for all skill levels wanting to learn altering techniques and feel confident to start upcycling their wardrobe.
